The desert to many is vast, empty and dangerous. I however get excited at opportunities to enter and traverse it. These vast areas can be relatively unscathed by human hand and filled with natural beauty. I however like to look for the leftover remnants left by people as if Rey from Star Wars.
I feel amazed by the stories the leftovers tell. In particular of abandonment. I find it unbelievable how places can flourish then disapear almost overnight. I love how the desert preserves. I love how the remnants are from a bygone era filled with optimism, now left decaying. I love the Americana Googie style iconic of so many things.
